About me

I spent my career as a journalist and public relations executive, working side by side with some of the  top photographers in their field.  I had always dabbled in photography but it wasn’t until I retired that I decided to take it more seriously, investing in a good quality camera and enrolling in a photography course at the adult education college.  I was immediately hooked and joined my local camera club, the Richmond & Twickenham Photographic Society, which has given me a huge amount of support and inspiration as well as lots of new friends to go out shooting with.

The Club encouraged me to go for some distinctions with the Royal Photographic Society and I was delighted to be awarded a Licentiateship (LRPS) in 2019 and an Associateship (ARPS) in 2025, the latter with a panel on Still Life, which you can view in the Gallery.  I also gained a Certificate with the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (CPAGB) and have had my work recognised in the International Garden Photographer of the Year Awards.

Photography has given me so much pleasure and has taught me to see beauty in the ordinary as well as the extraordinary.
